About Us

BSC was created to provide the very best advice to achieve your goals in the biomedical industry. With the fast-paced changes in biotechnology and drug discovery, it is difficult to have all the expertise in-house.  BSC is designed to close that gap and help in the strategic planning, laboratory setup, equipment selection, experimental design and execution of different areas of biomedical research and development. The experience of working in both academia and industry provides the clients with a service where innovation and a sense of urgency are instrumental to separating their companies or projects from competitors giving them a competitive advantage in their science and market position.

Lab setup & Preclinical models

The success of a drug or biological in a clinical trial mainly depends on having the right lab setup to take advantage of the predictive power of the preclinical studies. Selecting or developing the right in vitro and in vivo experimental models is key. BSC long experience in in vitro and in vivo experimental design will help you to choose or develop the right models and experimental approaches to obtain meaningful results.

In vitro models

In research and development, there are also challenges that require fine-tuning common assays or in some cases developing new assays to obtain accurate results. In other cases, the traditional way of testing drugs or biologicals such as 2D cell cultures doesn’t recapitulate faithfully the in vivo biology. BSC help to improve or develop an assay like, for example, test drugs in fully humanized 3D organoids, organ-on-chip, or bioprinting technologies to obtain better and reproducible results.

Biomarker identification & validation

Determining target engagement, efficacy, and potential toxicities are essential to moving a drug or biological into a clinical trial. Identifying the right markers in preclinical models that predict the clinical response is critical. BSC will help to identify these biomarkers from in vitro, in vivo, and clinical samples in tissue sections, plasma, and other types of samples using different approaches and technologies.
